Description
This Regional Workshop on the WTO TBT Agreement for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus Countries is being organized by the WTO. Relevant international bodies (e.g. International Standardization Organization, International Electro-technical Commission and UNIDO) will also be invited to make contributions during the workshop. The workshop will be tailored to the specific characteristics and needs of the region, encompassing, inter alia, the main provisions of the TBT Agreement, the work of the TBT Committee, transparency and quality infrastructure. The workshop will combine lectures, exercises and interactive dialogues aiming at the exchange of experiences among the different countries and institutions involved.

Pre-requisite
The target audience for the workshop is mid-level government officials with direct involvement at a technical, practical and/or policy level with the implementation of the TBT Agreement. This may include representatives of ministries in charge of trade, industry, agriculture, health and others – as well as officials working in national standards bodies, enquiry points, and other quality infrastructure institutions.
