Activity Type

Description
The aim of the workshop is to present the results and outstanding commitments of the IV Trade Policy Review (TPR) of Peru, and to take stock of the changes that have taken place since then. The main points contained in the Secretariat report and the results of the IV TPR will be explained. There will also be a presentation on the TPR process, directed in particular to officials who are new or have not participated in a previous TPR. The presentations will also explain the role of the Secretariat / WTO members in the TPR, the comments made by Members and the points identified as needing a follow up during the IV Review.

This workshop will also train national governmental officials who will participate in the next TPR of Peru and create awareness of what is expected of them. This will greatly facilitate the task of inter-institutional coordination for the coordinating entity, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), and guarantee the commitment of the main governmental institutions in the V TPR's preparation process. Participating officials will be requested to make presentations on their areas of expertise, focusing on latest developments and policy changes.
