Title of the activity
WTO 40th Geneva Week
Activity Type
Geneva Week
Description
Geneva Week (GW) is a week-long event for representatives of WTO Members and Observers without permanent representation in Geneva (see Annex 1 for list of countries). Other participants include representatives from 30 regional, economic organizations who have historically participated in Geneva Week events at their own expense. Geneva Week is organized not only to inform the WTO's non-resident delegates about recent developments but also to enable these officials to attend meetings of WTO Councils and Committees and to liaise with WTO Secretariat staff and regional groupings of WTO Members. Participants attend a series of briefings on the state-of-play of current negotiations. The Geneva Week events benefit from regular contributions in the form of seminars organized by the ACP and Commonwealth Secretariats as well as the ACWL.
