Description
This course is designed primarily for policy makers and trade negotiators, who seek to develop services trade policies and/or mainstream services into their trade policy plans. It will also be addressed to trade policy analysts and services experts who support negotiators. The aim is to better understand the analytical tools available (I-TIP services interface, Services Trade Policy Database, STRI and other tools), and how those can be used in policy making and research. Relevant trade in services statistical databases will also be presented. The course aims to increase developing countries' government officials' knowledge of these tools and their uses, in particular for the establishment of a national framework to analyse services trade policies and formulate negotiating strategies.

Candidates must fill out the application form attached to the invitation letter. The application form, completed and signed by the candidate and by the nominating national authority which presents the candidate, must be returned via the Permanent Mission/Embassy to the WTO. Applications and other requested information should be submitted no later than indicated in the invitation letter.

Pre-requisite
Candidates should have completed a WTO training activity (E-Learning or a face-to-face course) on trade in services or have demonstrably commensurate knowledge or professional experience in trade in services. They should also possess an excellent ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
