Description
The outcomes delivered from the recently concluded WTO MC12 has been acknowledged but there is still a need to analyse the implications of some of these outcomes on Small Island Developing States such as Tonga. These include completing the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement negotiations, progressing Agriculture, advancing discussions on the development aspects of Ecommerce Work Program and enhancing the work on trade and environment. Additionally government agencies that have a direct relevance to these areas their institutional capacity has to be strengthened to better understand how the WTO Agreements relate to their line of duty. This workshop will be able to deliver basic understanding and underpinning of the WTO to better understand and engage during discussions pertaining to Trade and the WTO.
