Description
The aim of the workshop is to enhance the participation of Uganda policy makers and private sector on work of the World Trade Organization. The Workshop will follow a hybrid approach with the WTO Secretariat delivering overviews of the key proposals and positions with respect to different areas of WTO reforms as submitted by members, followed by panellists/discussants offering their view. An interactive/question-and-answer session could ensue. The workshop will begin with a general overview and state of play in ongoing work at the WTO. Four sessions focused on WTO reform will follow under which the various proposals will be covered and discussed. The final session - session six – will be a closed session on the Deliberation on Uganda’s perspective on WTO Reform. This last session will provide the opportunity for Uganda’s Policy makers and private sector to have a closed-door deliberation on the themes that have been highlighted and to discuss the way forward for on WTO reform.
